“The giant wave hit land around one thirty this afternoon. Oystermouth Road took the brunt of the water along with the marina residences. Many are feared to have drowned due to the force of the water. Some residents have been stranded in their top floor flats, the electricity supply is off and it will be some time before the full extent of the damage is known.”

“Do any of the scientists have an explanation why this has happened?

“There was a lot of talk about global warming but that has been ruled out. They have stated that this was a one off rogue wave. They have not been able to deny that it could have been a result of wave reinforcement, which is many waves joining together. This means that the resulting wave would combine all the heights from crest to trough into one big massive wave.”

“If you look at the devastation behind me, it will probably take months to sort out. The tarmac has been ripped up and deposited in the guesthouses. There are fishing boats stranded on top of County Hall, all around me is chaos.”
