Crisis

I think the whole world is in crisis at the moment. Humanity is fumbling from one catastrophe to the next. Natural disasters abound from earthquakes and volcanoes erupting to, some say, human set fires that have wiped out most of the indigenous animals of Australia.

Now, we have the coronavirus which is sweeping the world. It astounds me that, the government are setting guidelines to keep people safe. However, we are hearing about people partying and holding barbecues, flouting the safety rules, and all because the weather is unseasonably quite warm.

Then you have the ‘yobbos’ who are spitting at the police, who are trying to disband crowds for their own safety. Also, I heard that two Iceland delivery vans had been torched by these imbeciles. These vans are essential to the elderly, disabled or infirm to ensure they have essential foods etc. And is this all done in fun??!!

It absolutely beggars belief to be honest.

Why, as a supposedly intelligent race, do we never learn. We have had countless wars where millions of people have died, but we continue to fight each other. Is it racial or religious intolerance, do we despise the differences in people, and if so why?

Nature provides us with many different species, and greed and vanity impel people to destroy and kill, or own such that should never be owned.

However, there is hope, I heard the news today and apparently the ozone layer is healing itself. Pity we can’t help this along by healing each other too.

Being kind to each other is really easy……..

I found this the other day in my belongings, I was doing a journalism course, and this was the first piece that I wrote, and never had the opportunity to hand in. A few weeks after writing it the powers that be decided to drop bombs on each other’s countries due to the virus that sped up and killed people in their thousands and on a daily basis. There was no warning at all, and after it ended there were not many people left. We were lucky, I think, but don’t know if we are going to survive. There is not much left, food is very scarce, as there are not many buildings still standing. There are little pockets of people getting together to look after each other. I think everyone is shocked to still be alive to be honest. I just have the backpack that I was carrying, and was down in the lower floors of the university studying. I had just got up to get a book when it happened so was protected by the shelves as they fell. I guess being kind to each other was too big an ask…….
